About Us
Stephanie Noonan, BA, PCP, CPB
I am a bookkeeper who has over thirty years of bookkeeping experience. After graduating from the University of Toronto, I went to work for a large national corporation and gained invaluable experience in accounts receivable and inventory accounting. After that I went on to become the accounting supervisor for a national manufacturing firm. I left the accounting field for a period of time to work in social services, where I assessed the financial needs of individual clients. From there I went to work in co-operative housing as a bookkeeper and I was on the finance committee presenting the financial statements.
With all the experience that I had gained over the years, I decided that I wanted to run my own bookkeeping business. I started to take on clients as a sole-proprietor and I ran a successful company for two years. After being a sole proprietor for a couple of years I decided to incorporate in 2005, and I have continued bookkeeping under the name of Filling the GAAP Bookkeeping Inc.
I am a member in good standing with the National Payroll Institute (NPI), and the Certified Professional Bookkeepers of Canada (CPB Canada). I have my Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certificate (PCP) from the National Payroll Institute, and I am a Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) with CPB Canada.
I have extensive experience in both QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online and Sage 50. In addition, I am a QuickBooks Pro Advisor at the advanced level.
My educational experience includes a B.A. from the University of Toronto. After graduating I took college and university level courses in both business and accounting. I continue to stay current with both bookkeeping and payroll issues, by taking webinars, and attending conferences.
Over the years I have done a lot of volunteer work for places such as Bloorview Children’s Hospital, The Clarington Project, Distress Lines, etc. Currently I do the books on a volunteer basis for a local non-profit store, which provides clothing, furniture, etc. often for free, to those in need. It also raises money for the associated food bank.
In my spare time I enjoy training and competing with my dog in agility, rally obedience, and scent detection.
My goal is to run my business in such a way that my clients can be relieved of the stress of looking after their books. This will allow my clients to focus on what they do best - running their businesses.
